National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week

NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY CAREER AWARENESS WEEK

November 9-14, 2020

The week of November 9-14, 2020 is National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week. The NCCAW according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is a "week-long campaign to call attention to the contributions to society and innovations introduced by cybersecurity practitioners. It's also time to build awareness about the wide range of cybersecurity job opportunities, how cybersecurity plays a vital role in the lives of Americans, and how building a national cybersecurity workforce enhances the nation's national security and promotes economic prosperity." Lots of special events and activities are being planned across the country to mark that week.

At PCTA, we're preparing young professionals in the field of cybersecurity. Our students will attend a few online events. Below is our calendar:

Here's the key message for this year:
  • Cybersecurity has something for everyone! Skills are needed from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Cybersecurity is a dynamic field so you will never be bored. Cybersecurity evolves quickly so you will always be learning and developing new skills.
  • There is a high demand for a talented cybersecurity workforce. The Department of Labor predicts that IT and cybersecurity will be among the fastest growing and best paying jobs over the next decade
  • Cybersecurity plays a vital role in the lives of all Americans and the cybersecurity workforce makes a difference in our world. Building a national cybersecurity workforce enhances America’s national security and promotes economic prosperity.
We invite you to join us in observing National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week, an effort to inspire, educate, and engage our seniors to pursue careers in cybersecurity.
